I rather think this would be good. it's funny in a self deprecating sort of way - which is very English, and it's actually correct too

Wandered in here after the question of the sixth verse of "God save the Queen" came up in a pub quiz last night.

I think it would be a good idea for Anthem4England to launch a campaign on Twitter. By using it we can gain a significant number of followers. We could link to petitions and other useful websites to get the message across.

My name is Ian and I have just joined. I believe in your campaign to give us English our own national anthem.

Found this forum last week whilst doing a little research on the National Anthem - one of my friends has started a new cause to 'Leave the ******* National Anthem Alone!' I wasn't really aware that we didn't have an English Anthem, guess I just assumed it was 'Land of Hope and Glory' - how wrong could I be!

After having a chat with my Dad who is in his 70's, I did a little more research and found the words to a song he had learnt at school. 'The English Rose' seems to have been written between the 1st and 2nd World Wars by Welshman Ivor Novello for his musical, 'Crest of a Wave'.

It was available on iTunes and after having listened to it I've come to the conclusion it would make a fantastic Anthem.
